Hotels in Silom / Sathorn |
| Silom, running parallel with Sathorn Road represents the heart of the older central business district, lined with the head offices of financial institutions, local banks, law firms and multinational corporations. Surprisingly there are also a number of art and antique shops, and some good local bars and restaurants. During the evening, Silom puts on a different face when local street markets selling clothes, watches, and souvenirs set up along the roadside. Patpong, better known for its raunchy nightlife also has a few dance clubs and party places among the saucy shows, along with Japanese hostess and karaoke bars around Thaniya. Some of Bangkok's old established hotels are located along both Silom and Surawong road. The Skytrain runs along part of Silom providing good access both to the river and the central shopping area.

Hotels in Riverside |
| This is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating and scenic areas in Bangkok has to offer. The Riverside encompasses a large area and is of historic significance in documenting the evolution of trade, warehousing and commercial activity. Today, it is an area for prime real estate and commercial development. Many hotels have established themselves here, especially near the area of Bangkrak. What's fascinating about the area is the opportunity to observe the beehive of activity taking place - from taxi boats plying their regular routes, to rice barges being towed to nearby warehouses.

Hotels in Old City / China Town / Khao San |
| This is where most of Bangkok's "must see" sights can be found. The district borders the Chao Phraya River on the west, but land reclamation has long since joined the eastern bank to the mainland. The focal point of the area is the wide open field of the Royal Ground (Sanam Luang), the site of many ceremonies and festivals associated with the royalty.

Hotels in Petchburi |
| One of Bangkok's colourful nightlife areas, especially along "New Petchburi road". Massage parlours, hostess bars, discos, clubs, restaurants and nightclubs pop up along New Petchburi road and in the streets running between New Petchburi Road and Sukhumvit. Don't get the impression its a congested area, it isn't, and many of the nightlife areas appear in small pockets with some of the new and more hip venues making an appearance around Thonglor, at the eastern end of New Petchburi road. The Skytrain does not run along New Petchburi road or its sister road, Petchburi running to the west, but there are plenty of taxis with an encyclopedic knowledge of the streets, ready to whisk you from one place to another.

A variety of good restaurants and fine serviced apartments can be found down Langsuan Road, while the Siam Square area with more high-end shopping at Siam Paragon, Siam Centre and Siam Discovery is very close (and MBK for bargain shopping!). So too the attractions of Silom, and the Sathorn business district. Did we mention that Bangkok's biggest park, Lumpini Park, and Suan Lum Night Bazaar is just ten minutes away by taxi.

Hotels in Pratunam / Siam |
Pratunam is one of Bangkok's most colourful and chaotic areas, and famously popular for its fashion factory outlets, street markets, bazaars and armies of local vendors, Pratunam offers bargain prices for all kinds of clothing, apparel, fashion accessories, shoes, watches, jewellery, belts, luggage and then some. Cluttered, noisy and hot - but packed with great deals if you have the stamina and patience - it's the major wholesale center for the garment trade. Along with that, Pratunam deserves all the credit that a city of ten million people can afford to clad themselves fashionably.
Siam is unquestionably the centre of shopping in Bangkok, home to some of the city's most popular and important shopping centers like MBK Center, Siam Discovery Center, Siam Center, and Siam Paragon. Within Siam Square itself, there is a wide range of shops and services, including restaurants, cafés, designer clothing boutiques, record stores, cinemas, bookshops, a Hard Rock Café, hotels and banks. The shoppers vary from young-aged school and college students to office workers, trend-setting city dwellers and, of course, throngs of tourists.

Hotels in Ratchadapisek |
| Ratchadaphisek has many interesting places. The area include the well-known Thailand Cultural Centre, the famous cabaret shows, the new entertainment complex called "Siam Niramit" has just been opened recently, huge massage parlours, local nightclubs and pubs, hotels, restaurants, discotheques, cabarets, karaoke lounges, as well as department stores and value-for-money hotels. In recent years it's gained something of a reputation for being an affordable nightlife spot - although this is more among locals than the expat or holiday crowd.
Many shopping centers are located within walking distances. They are: Fortune Shopping Center and IT Mall, Lotus, Carrefour, Robinson and Esplanade Ratchada.
There's easy access to the rest of the city by road, and while there's no Skytrain (BTS), it is extremely well-served by the MRT underground. There's a ready supply of inexpensive taxis available at any time, and Ratchadapisek offers quick access to the new Suvarnabhumi Airport.
